The annual Sudbury to the Sea event saw hundreds of water lovers launch kayaks, rowing boats, paddle boards and canoes on to the River Stour at the weekend.
This year around 500 people - in 280 different crafts - took part in the two-day event in which they navigate nearly 25 miles of the river from Sudbury to the Cattawade Barrier.

Rowers enjoy the countryside views along the river that are inaccessible by road and by foot.
Jane Rogers from The Stour River Trust said the weekend is a major fundraising event in the Trust’s calendar and is always very popular.
“We had great weather, thankfully, and it was a wonderful sight to see so many people navigating the river and enjoying the experience, camping overnight and navigate the river to Caddawade and the sea.
“We hear that one person saw a deer swimming across the river, which is very rare sight.”

She said the event had been going for many years, with many people taking part year after year. We never have a problem filling it,” she said.
The event is helped by Trust volunteers who man checkpoints along the route, and supported by the Environment Agency.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to them all.”
