Bury Town’s semi-final re-arranged while final could be held away from Ipswich Town
Bury Town’s semi-final of the Suffolk FA Premier Cup, sponsored by Omni Freight Services Ltd, has been rearranged, while the final date has been moved back with a neutral venue still yet to be announced.
Bury Town will face Lowestoft Town on Tuesday, March 22, at Needham Market FC (7.45pm) after last night’s (Wednesday, March 09) tie at Bloomfields was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
In the final, the winners will face Leiston, who defeated Needham Market 1-0 in the other semi-final on Tuesday at AFC Sudbury.
The date of the final has been switched from Wednesday, April 6, to Wednesday, May 4.
A spokesman for Suffolk FA explained: “The final, which will be played at a neutral venue, has been put back to assist the clubs with any potential fixture backlog and important league matches they may still have to play.”
The neutral venue’s location is yet to be announced, suggesting it may hinge on Ipswich Town’s potential play-off commitments, with the Sky Bet Championship regular season finishing after the games on Saturday, May 7, but with the play-off semi-final dates still to be announced.
