A 50-year-old has decided to mark his half century by taking part in a 50-hour fundraising effort.

Richard Blyth, from Shimpling, will spend five days – August 3, to August 7, – at Long Melford’s Holy Trinity Church, reading the Bible.

He is raising money for Christian Aid and Base Camp, a weekly activity for school children in the benefice.

Each day will see five two-hour reading sessions, starting at 9am and finishing at 8.30pm.
