Sudbury farmers’ market set to host renowned BBQ influencer Jack’s Meat Shack
One of the UK’s biggest social media barbecue influencers will star at a monthly Sudbury town centre market.
Jack Rowbottom – the barbecue pitmaster behind Jack’s Meat Shack – has been announced as the special guest at Sudbury Farmers’ Market on Friday.
Organised by Suffolk Market Events, the farmers’ market is held on Market Hill on the last Friday of each month.
Jack’s Meat Shack launched online in 2017, offering catering, private training sessions and trade show demonstrations.
After the popularity of barbecuing rocketed during the Covid-19 pandemic, former police officer Jack went full-time with the venture.
In June of this year, he opened Jack’s Meat Shack BBQ School at Slough Hall in Little Cornard, to teach people the art of outdoor cooking, smoking and grilling.
Ahead of his visit to Sudbury on Friday, Jack said: “I am really pleased to be part of something so local to us in Sudbury.
“We’re new to the area, but we absolutely love it and are really looking forward to being at the market this week.
“Hopefully, I will meet lots of new people, and it will be great to demo some great grilling on the BBQ.”
Justine Paul, of Suffolk Market Events, added: “It is so important for any thriving farmers market to have support from residents and businesses alike.
“It’s great that Jack is coming down the market to showcase all his great BBQ skills and knowledge.
“It should be great fun and prove that Britain can barbecue, whatever the weather is like.”
Alongside Jack, this Friday’s market – which runs from 9.30am to 2pm – will also feature 30 local producers, selling products such as vegetables, pies, brownies, sausage rolls, sourdough and gin.
