Essex Fire Service share pictures of van which was swept away by floodwater in Sible Hedingham near Sudbury

A van driver had a lucky escape when they drove into a flooded ford in a village near Sudbury.

Essex Fire Service shared pictures to X, formerly Twitter, yesterday of a van which had been swept away by floodwater in Sible Hedingham.

The post said the driver had a ‘lucky escape’ and managed to get to safety.

It added that with rain forecast over the next 48 hours on already saturated ground, there could be a risk of flooding.
