Meze Grill Turkish Restaurant, in Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, reopens in place of Lezzihh Bar and Grill
A town centre restaurant has reopened under new management this week.
Meze Grill Turkish Restaurant, in Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, has replaced Lezzihh Bar and Grill.
Mehmet Kutlubay, who has been in the industry for 25 years, is heading up the new venue.
It officially reopened on Monday.
“When I looked around, I thought the market was missing something which served proper Mediterranean and Turkish food,” said Mr Kutlubay.
“We’re going to have nice food in a nice atmosphere and I will bring my 25 years of experience.
“Customers can have from A to Z – there’s so much to try.”
Mr Kutlubay closed the venue for two months when he took it on to redecorate and reshape it.
It has a conservatory which leads onto a large garden area with covered seating and umbrellas on a grass patch ready for summer.
The bar area features tables directly in front of it and to either side
Meze Grill has a range of meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian options on the menu, all cooked distinctively using coals in its open kitchen, which guests can view from its conservatory and garden.
There is also a range of hot and cold starters and platters to choose from.
Mr Kutlubay operated restaurants in Windsor before taking up the Stowmarket venue and also worked as the head silver service waiter on a cruise ship, serving Queen Elizabeth II during his time in the role.
He said anyone can come and enjoy Meze Grill, with guests welcome to visit solely to drink.
The bar will serve a range of cocktails, including its own signuature mix, alongside other drinks.
Customers can book out areas of the venue for private functions, events and parties.
Meze Grill is open seven days a week, from 12pm to 10pm.
