Suffolk One student, from Stowmarket, attends the King’s Garden party at Buckingham Palace, representing Boys’ Brigade
A Suffolk teenager said it was a great honour to help people and chat to members of the royal family at Buckingham Palace.
George Burton, 18, of Stowmarket was one of 12 members of the Boys’ Brigade nationally, who represented the organisation as a steward, at the King’s garden party on Wednesday.
The Suffolk One student said: “I spoke to Edward and Sophie - The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and Edward shook my hand.
"It has been a great honour to help out at this wonderful event.
"It was great to be able to help people today and I spoke to some really interesting people, including the head of British Transport Police."
George, who volunteers at a social group at the Red Gables in Stowmarket, was recently awarded the Boys' Brigade President's Badge - the second highest award nationally.
He attends the 1st Mid-Suffolk Boys' Brigade in Stowmarket.
