Former Ipswich Town player Jack Ainsley announces his departure from Isthmian League North Division club Stowmarket Town
Jack Ainsley has announced his departure from Pitching In Isthmian League North Division club Stowmarket Town.
The 32-year-old joined the Old Gold & Blacks in the summer of 2019 and has been an almost ever-present in the team ever since, making more than 130 appearances in the last four years.
The ex-Ipswich Town, Lowestoft Town and Leiston midfielder was a key part of the squad, then under former manager Rick Andrews, which guided Stow to promotion to Step 4 for the first time in the club’s history in 2021.
Towards the end of this season Ainsley was deployed as a striker by player-manager Chris Casement and, in his last appearance for the club, scored two goals in their Suffolk Premier Cup final defeat to Needham Market.
A number of player departures at expected at Greens Meadow during the post season, following long-time donor Tom Morley withdrawing his investment from the club.
Ainsley posted on Twitter: ‘My time at @stowtownfc has come to an end after 4 fantastic years, I’d like to thank the management, team mates but even more the volunteers and the fans who have been brilliant throughout. This has been a tough decision but I feel it is time for a new challenge,Thanks again.’
