Sculpture of Ed Sheeran appears sitting on a fence in Chilton Way, Stowmarket

A paper mâché sculpture of Suffolk music legend Ed Sheeran has appeared sitting on a fence.

The model, donning a ginger wig and Ipswich Town shirt, can be found in Chilton Way, Stowmarket.

Sharon Kulesa, the statue’s creator, has become known in the town for her paper mâché creations after she started making them during lockdown.

She said: “My first one was Boris Johnson, who was stolen, but I also did one of the Queen and one of her corgis during the Platinum Jubilee.

“I’ve also made one of Father Christmas and King Charles during his coronation.

“I just really enjoy making them and I think I’ve built up a bit of reputation in the town for who will be sitting on my fence next.

“Making Ed was a no-brainer, he’s a Suffolk legend – and I had to put him in a Ipswich shirt because the club has been doing so well recently.”
