Great Finborough’s Pettiward Hall sees leaky roof repaired
A village hall built around 1907 has been re-roofed thanks to grants and fundraising.
The leaky roof of The Pettiward Hall in Great Finborough, near Stowmarket, has been fully patched up as The Hall Committee raised more than £2,800 with its SOS (Save Our Slates) appeal.
The works were also made possible through grants from Mid Suffolk County Council and The Platinum Jubilee Village Halls Fund.
Jo Churchill, MP for Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, attended an Open Morning event where residents could see the new roof and learn about village organisations including the Garden Club, Allotments Association, St Andrew’s Church and the Parish Council.
There was also a display about the roof project and a history about the building.
The repairs were carried out by Mark Hughes Roofing which is based in Bury St Edmunds and can be contacted on 01284 750627 or 07808 767707.
The Pettiward Hall is available to hire and to learn more you can contact Mary Preece on mary.preece1@btinternet.com.
The hall can be used for different activities including parties, family celebrations and fundraising events.
