Neighbour reacts after Peugeot crashes into Stowmarket house in Brooke Way
A dad-of-two from Stowmarket said it was lucky no one was hurt after a car crashed into a neighbouring family home.
Mike Pepper, 43, was working from home in Brooke Way yesterday afternoon when he heard an ‘almighty bang’ and felt his whole house shake.
Initially the digital designer thought a lorry might have toppled over, but soon realised a car had veered off the road and collided into his neighbour’s property.
One of the first on the scene, Mr Pepper said the crash, at 3.05pm yesterday was close to the time of the school run and near to a play park.
Brooke Way is also a popular route for dog walkers.
Mr Pepper said: “It was lucky no kids or dogs were walking by at the time.
“It was really lucky that no one got hurt.”
Mr Pepper said workers spent a long time removing the grey Peugeot, from his neighbour’s front garden.
The front of the house has been boarded up after a structural engineer was called to the scene.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a valid licence and driving without insurance.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
