Suffolk Police continues investigation after Christmas lights in Great Finborough, Onehouse, Combs, Stanningfield and Battisford damaged
Police are investigating a spate of ‘mindless vandalism’ where Christmas lights and decorations have been damaged.
The incidents took place between 5pm on Thursday, December 5 and the early hours of Friday, December 6 primarily across the Mid Suffolk area.
In one of the incidents in Combs, near Stowmarket, two men were seen to approach a property and cut Christmas lights wires.
CCTV footage showed one of the men cutting wires who was described as wearing a North Face jacket with his face partially covered.
In another incident, a person was seen leaving a property in Onehouse and they were described as having dark hair, wearing a light-coloured cap, with a light t-shirt and shorts and white trainers, with a leather bag with one strap around the body.
PC Simon Lant said: “Why someone decided to carry out this period of mindless vandalism is not clear but it has brought hurt, as well as a financial cost, to many residents in the area, depriving those living and visiting in these areas of the colour and joy that these lights bring to people, young and old.
“If anyone has any information about who might be responsible, please contact police.
“Equally, anyone with CCTV or doorbell cameras in the affected areas are asked to review footage between 5pm and the early hours of December 6 for anything that may be relevant.”
Officers are linking the incidents and investigations are ongoing — though no arrests have been made.
