New Starbucks drive-thru in Thorney Way, Stowmarket, to open on Thursday

A new Starbucks drive-thru in Stowmarket will open on Thursday.

The coffee shop will open in Thorney Way, on land south of Gun Cotton way, near the existing McDonald’s and Costa drive-thrus.

Construction on the site began in August.

Today, a Starbucks spokesperson said it is due to open on Thursday.

They said it has created 15 jobs and the first 50 customers will get a free goodie bag on opening day from 8am.

The new Starbucks is part of a larger development project that includes two new drive-thrus at the location.

The second unit was initially planned for a Leon restaurant but was expected to become a KFC - however, a KFC spokesperson said that the current construction was not related to the fast-food chain.

Plans for the drive-thru restaurants were submitted by EG Group Ltd in 2022, with Mid Suffolk District Council granting permission for two drive-thru units, an electric charging kiosk, parking, servicing, and landscaping.
