A14 construction project between Haughley and Tothill sees National Highways invite Suffolk residents to attend public information event
National Highways is inviting people in Suffolk to attend an upcoming public information event to learn more about an A14 scheme.
In mid-April, construction started on a £37m project to remove and reconstruct the concrete road surface of the A14 carriageway between Haughley (junction 47a) and Tothill (junction 49), as part of National Highways’ drive to revitalise concrete roads across the country.
There are three public information events this week where people will be able to meet the team delivering the upgrades and learn more about the scheme, including informative materials, an update on scheme progress, and an opportunity to speak with National Highways project experts.
Mindy Bhogal, project manager at National Highways, said: “We are excited to engage with the local community and provide a platform for residents, businesses, and stakeholders to learn about the A14 Haughley to Tothill Concrete reconstruction scheme.
"The project team will be available to address any questions or concerns, gather feedback, and update on the progress of the scheme so far.”
The stretch of A14 was deteriorating and the scheme will remove the old concrete road surface and some of its foundations, before rebuilding with recycled material and a new asphalt top.
The community will be able to ask questions and provide feedback at three events over the next week:
