Man in 60s dies after crash on A14 at Tot Hill, near Stowmarket, which shut route for eight hours
A man has died after a crash near Stowmarket last night, which shut the A14 for eight hours.
Emergency services were called to the westbound route, near junction 49, Tot Hill, at 11.41pm following reports of a crash involving a car and a lorry.
A black Ford C-Max car collided with a Volvo Skip Loader, which was parked in a layby.
Paramedics, firefighters and a crew from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) attended but the driver of the car, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.
The A14 westbound was shut between junctions 49 and 50 before reopening at 7.30am.
An investigation has been launched following the crash, with officers keen to speak to any witnesses or any motorists who used the A14 between Felixstowe and Stowmarket after 11pm yesterday.
