Landlords set to leave The Walnut in Violet Hill Road, Stowmarket, after five years

The landlords of a popular pub in a Suffolk town are set to move on after five years.

Ivan and Helen Sheldrake will be leaving the Walnut in Violet Hill Road, Stowmarket, later this month.

Helen said: “It’s been a rollercoaster and we’ve loved it or we wouldn’t have stayed on.

“It’s just the right time for us to leave and for a new custodian to take the helm.”

Helen and Ivan took on the Walnut on a five year tenancy from Admiral Taverns, but ended up staying for five-and-a-half years.

They will be leaving the pub on August 25, ready for the new Admiral Taverns tenants that will take over from August 28.
