Owner of Café 24 at Stonham Barns Park, near Stowmarket, celebrates East of England Business Awards nomination
The owner of a café who achieved the life-long dream of her mother is celebrating after being nominated for a business award.
Sarah Shaw, who owns the recently relaunched Café 24 at Stonham Barns Park, near Stowmarket, moved to Stonham Aspal from Essex to take on the venue, with the help of husband Robert.
The café has been shortlisted as a finalist for the East of England Business Awards, which will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, at Stansted Airport, next week.
Sarah said: “To be invited to the awards as a finalist is such an achievement and I am honoured - and a little overwhelmed - to be a part of this event.
“I will be taking my whole team with me to the presentation as this achievement would be for us all if we were lucky enough to win.”
Sarah described opening Café 24 as a ‘roller coaster-ride - in a good way’.
She said: “I put this café together as a tribute to my mum who was my role model and inspiration.
“She was a home baking enthusiast and very much a people person.
“So, it’s a dream to be able to follow in her footsteps and do what she wanted to do.”
Café 24 serves coffee, freshly made cakes and home cooked meals which Sarah said reflects its countryside location.
