Stowmarket and Haverhill to see festive Cinderella trails this winter
Fairytale themed trails have been launched for families this winter with princess slippers appearing in the windows of two Suffolk towns.
Get Suffolk Reading is hosting festive trails in Stowmarket and Haverhill for children of all ages inspired by the Cinderella pantomime.
Businesses around the towns are displaying princess slippers along with letters of the alphabet that link to specific words from Cinderella’s story and children will need to decipher these words to be in for a chance of winning prizes.
Project manager Sarah Olley said: “Christmas is such a magical time of year and we can’t wait to see families in Stowmarket and Haverhill having a ball and engaging with our literacy events through the festive season.
“Hopefully our Cinderella fairy-trails will provide some excitement throughout December and people will be encouraged to chat, play and read together.
“Thank you to our community partners in Stowmarket and Haverhill for making these trails possible.”
There are nine stops along the Stowmarket trail including Bernados, Hays Travel, Red Gables and JobCentre Plus.
The trail in Haverhill has a total of 18 stops across the town and shops taking part include The Craft Basket, Quick Service Shoe Repairs, TVL Allstar Videos and Clarks.
Both trails are open to the public until Saturday, December 31 and more information can be found by clicking this link.
The trail maps are available to pick up from Stowmarket Library, The Regal Theatre, Haverhill Library and Haverhill Arts Centre.
Completed maps need to be handed in to one of these venues to be entered into a prize draw to be given the chance to win shopping vouchers and book prizes.
