Stowmarket venue John Peel Centre to host DJ legend Dave Pearce club night

A night of classic dance tracks from the 90s and 00s is coming to Suffolk with a radio legend on the decks.

Dave Pearce, who hosted BBC Radio 1’s Dance Anthems for over a decade, is performing at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket on Saturday, November 18.

With nightclub residencies all over the world, including Ministry of Sound, BCM and Gatecrasher, Dave will be spinning tracks from the likes of Gala, Sandy B, N-Trance and Faithless.

A spokesperson from Amphora Events said: “We’re really excited to be bringing Dave Pearce, a superstar of the 90’s and 00’s dance scene to the John Peel Centre.

“We feel our brand of sophisticated club nights, aimed at people in their thirties and forties, will be the perfect fit for such an iconic Suffolk venue.”

DJ Flipper, who has played in nightclubs across Suffolk for 20 years including the popular Jokers in Stowmarket, will be joining Dave on the night.

The club night, called 90s vs 00s Dance Anthems, will start at 7.45pm and tickets can be purchased for £19.50 at mhtickets.com or in the John Peel Centre box office in Church Walk.

Stowmarket Town Cllr Terence Carter said: “I’m delighted to support a much-loved local venue, itself an homage to a great legend of the airways, in hosting another with their dance-anthem decade-off.

“This winter-warmer event will come as a brilliant boost to Stowmarket’s night-time economy.

“With the event aimed firmly at my age bracket you may get to see me gracing my wheels across the dance floor.”

Another performance of 90s nostalgia is also coming to Stowmarket in November with boy band East 17 set to perform at The Regal.

The ‘Stay Another Day’ superstars will be hitting the stage on Saturday, November 4.
