Walberswick in Suffolk named amongst top 20 UK beaches according to The Telegraph
A Suffolk coastal village has been named in a list of the top 20 UK beaches to visit this summer.
'Picturesque' Walberswick, just south of Southwold, came in at number 10 in the list, which was created by The Telegraph, and was praised for its beauty.
Special mention went to the wooden bridge leading from the village to the beach, which is a popular crabbing spot for visitors and tourists.
The Telegraph wrote of Walberswick: "Clamber over the ridge of dunes into the magical light of the Suffolk coast and you'll understand why so many artists are drawn to paint this long and empty stretch of sandy beach."
The list also suggested places to eat and stay at each location, with The Anchor on Main Street praised for its 'superior' food.
They also advised readers to stay at The Crown Hotel or The Swan Hotel on High Street in Southwold during a visit to the area, with both offering "an old-fashioned welcome and family-friendly service."
Other locations mentioned in the list include Wells/Holkham in Norfolk, West Wittering in Sussex, Botany Bay in Kent and Sandsend in Yorkshire.
Several places in Scotland and the South West of England also made the top 20.
