Aldeburgh house blaze in King Street sees massive fire service response
Firefighters battled a house blaze in a Suffolk seaside town tonight.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 6.51pm to a fire at a two-storey cottage in King Street, Aldeburgh.
A spokesman said the 20m x 10m blaze was on the first floor and in the roof space, with 13 crews mobilised and 11 attended.
They used hose reel and covering jets as well as breathing equipment.
The fire was extinguished at just after 8pm and crews remained to deal with hotspots.
Police were called to close the road.
Fire crews mobilised included two from Ipswich East, two from Woodbridge, one from Framlingham, one from Orford, one from Aldeburgh, one from Leiston, one from Saxmundham, one from Wrentham, one from Southwold and two from Haverhill.
However, the two from Haverhill didn't attend.
