Band of Brothers and Homeland star Damian Lewis and his band to perform at Latitude Festival
Veteran actor Damian Lewis is gearing up to perform his biggest ever show at a festival ‘close to his heart’.
The Band of Brothers and Homeland star will take to the stage at Latitude Festival, in Henham Park, near Southwold, when it returns in July.
Bringing their signature mix of blues, folk-rock, Americana and more, Mr Lewis and his band join a star-studded lineup, including headliners Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar as well as comedians Sara Pascoe, Jo Brand, Judi Love and Joanne McNally.
The announcement follows the release of his latest album, Mission Creep, last year, much of which he wrote during the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Mr Lewis said the festival held a special place in his heart, with himself and his family having attended for years.
“There is something very magical about the festival; the site itself is glorious, and I've seen so many amazing artists there,” he said.
“From busking on the streets of Europe to gracing the stage at Latitude Festival, this musical journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. It's a testament to the power of music and the unwavering support of my fans.
“This is undoubtedly the biggest show I've ever done, and I'm very grateful for this opportunity. The Latitude audience is incredibly special, and I cannot wait to perform with my brilliant band.”
Mr Lewis’ appearance was announced yesterday at a press event.
Other acts, including alt-pop act Samphire and EDM act EV, were also unveiled.
As part of a partnership with Lowestoft’s First Light Festival, Cam T, a native of the town, and Norfolk-born pop musician Finn Doherty will also perform.
Melvin Benn, festival director, said the team were thrilled to welcome Mr Lewis to the lineup.
He added: “Damian's musical talent is undeniable and he is captivating.
“Performing at Latitude is the next step up in his already thriving musical career.”
