Jak Hibs in Soham High Street set to close doors after 14 years
The owner of an independent high street shop has announced it will be closing its doors in a town after 14 years.
Jacky Hibbert opened Jak Hibs in Churchgate Street, Soham, in July 2011, before moving to a bigger premises at 33 High Street in September 2016.
She will be welcoming customers for the final time on Saturday, August 30.
Until then, the shop will be trading as normal but will no longer be opening on Wednesdays from April 2.
The store sells a range of items such as toys, stationery, cards, accessories and more.
Ms Hibs, who lives in Soham, said: “The lease on my shop ends soon and I’ve decided I will not be renewing it.
“I'd just like to say that I love my job. I'll miss it enormously as well as of course all my customers and people I've met over the past 14 years, but the time is right.
“I'm looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my journey through life.”
She added: “My next chapter to start off with is to sleep and then go on a long holiday, as I haven't had a proper holiday in 14 years.”
