Mildenhall Town pulled out of the FA Vase




Mildenhall Town have been withdrawn from this season's Buildbase FA Vase.

The Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit had been due to host Leighton Town in the second round proper on Saturday.

However, after taking into consideration the severe impact of Tier 2 restrictions, the club's hierarchy has opted to pull out of the national competition.

Mildenhall are also among a number of Premier Division sides that will not be playing league matches for the time being, with their next scheduled fixture at home against Haverhill Rovers on January 2.

Chairman Bill Flynn said: "There is lots to consider with the viability of games going ahead in the near future, and we decided that the viability was not there.

"We considered the pros and cons of the situation, and financial hardship was not a price worth paying to stagger on through this blighted season at the moment."
