Newmarket Town manager Michael Shinn adds Dereham Town striker James Moore to attacking ranks after exits of Josh Lee and Jose Santa de la Paz
Newmarket Town boss Michael Shinn has bolstered his attacking options with the signing of James Moore.
The Jockeys have been in the market for a new striker over the last fortnight following the departures of Josh Lee and Jose Santa de la Paz to Maldon & Tiptree and Ipswich Wanderers respectively.
And the search has now ended with the arrival of Moore from lower-league Dereham Town.
The young frontman has found the back of the net on eight occasions so far this term from his 25 appearances for the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club.
Newmarket are also already well aware of his clinical touch after Moore scored twice against them last season while playing for Downham Town, whom he helped to win the Norfolk Senior Cup at Carrow Road in May.
Newmarket, who saw their Isthmian League North Division trip to Sporting Bengal United postponed at the weekend, will be back in action on Tuesday when they entertain Soham Town Rangers at the Tristel Stadium in the quarter-finals of the Cambridgeshire Invitation Cup (7.45pm).
Newmarket won the competition for the one and only time back in 1959.
