Former Histon boss lance Key appointed new Soham Town Rangers manager after departure of Alex Cross
Lance Key has been appointed the new manager of Soham Town Rangers.
The Greens have been seeking a new boss ever since Alex Cross took the decision to step down from the role last month.
And that process has now come to an end with the arrival of Key, who has been out of management since leaving Histon in October 2023.
Soham chairman Jonathan James said: “We are delighted that Lance has taken on the role of first team manager.
“He is well known and well respected in the game, and we look forward to the progress and future success that he can bring to the club.
“We would like to express our thanks to Sam Spencer and Lee Chaffey for stepping ups as interim managers during the recruitment process.”
Fifty-six-year-old Key, who made one appearance during his playing days for Sheffield Wednesday, will inherit a side that are 12th in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division after yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Dereham Town.
His first game in charge will be on Saturday, November 9 when 11th-placed Kirkley & Pakefield will be the visitors to Julius Martin Lane.
