A shotgun has been stolen from a Freckenham bungalow.
The burglary happened in the village's North Street on Thursday between 11.30am and 3.15am.
Suffolk Police said the suspects are believed to have gained entry by jemmying the front door.
They had then made an untidy search of the bedroom. They gained access to a safe by force and had also opened the gun cabinet, stealing a shotgun along with items of jewellery and money.
Today the force has issued an appeal for witnesses to the burglary.
A force spokesman said: "Anyone with information about the incident should contact police quoting crime reference 37/50439/19."
