Ofsted find children 'brimming with confidence' at a Newmarket pre-school
A Government inspector found children ‘brimming with confidence’ when she visited a Newmarket pre-school.
All Saints’ Under fives was rated good in all areas following its Ofsted inspection last month and manager Caroline McKay said she was delighted.
“We are really pleased and I am particularly pleased for the staff who work so hard,” she said. “We have actually been going for nearly 40 years but when we changed our charity status we had to re-register with Ofsted in 2016.”
The inspector, Veronica Sharpe, said the pre-school, which caters for 30 youngsters aged three and four, said: “The pre-school has a warm, inclusive atmosphere. Staff know the children well and have an impressive understanding of their individual faiths, cultures and languages.”
She added that the staff were experienced, had good teaching skills, and worked well as a team.
“The children clearly enjoy their time in pre-school,” she said. “They make good progress in their learning, given their starting points and develop their independence well. They learn to behave well, co-operate with others and share their games.”
