A man is in a critical condition after he was run over in the car park of a McDonald's just outside Mildenhall.

Suffolk Police were called at about 11pm yesterday to reports the man, in his 20s, was hit by a woman driving a BMW 1 Series in the car park at McDonald's in Barton Mills, at the Fiveways' roundabout.

Police said he had become involved in an argument with the driver and then, either in the process of trying to get into or getting out of the car, was struck by the vehicle.
