Man arrested in Newmarket on suspicion of rape, common assault and causing actual bodily harm

Police arrested an Ely man in Newmarket yesterday on suspicion of rape.
At about 1pm Suffolk's road and armed policing team arrested a man in his 30s in the town on suspicion of rape, common assault and three counts of causing actual bodily harm.
The offences are alleged to have happened in East Cambridgeshire.
The man remains in custody.
