Lemontree Properties makes grand return to Newmarket High Street

After 16 successful years in business, Lemontree Properties has made a grand return to Newmarket High Street with a brand-new office, marking a significant milestone for the independent lettings agency.

Founded in 2009 by Beth Barnham and her husband, Martin, Lemontree started its journey on the High Street before moving to Old Station Road, where it flourished for 12 years.

Over the years, the agency expanded its reach, now managing over 370 properties across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

However, as the business grew, so did the need for a more spacious and modern workspace.

“We had been looking to move for a couple of years as we had outgrown our previous office,” said Beth.

“When we enquired about the vacant shop that was previously Bouquets of Newmarket, we were in the right place at the right time—the owner was looking to sell, including the freehold.

“After years of careful financial planning, we were able to purchase the property.”

With the purchase complete, Lemontree embarked on a full-scale refurbishment to transform the space into a contemporary, welcoming environment.

The renovations included new external windows and doors, a full rewire, and the installation of an air source heat pump central heating system.

Structural walls were removed and reinforced with steel beams to create an open, light-filled space.

The addition of a bathroom, kitchen, and a dedicated staff room further enhanced the workspace, creating a perfectly connected and efficient space for the team dynamic to flourish.

“The team is now all on one floor, which means we work much more closely with each other,” Beth added.

“The feedback has been fantastic—everyone who enters the office compliments how bright, fresh, and modern it feels. We wanted to create a warm and inviting space, just like our team.”

Beyond its new office, Lemontree remains committed to reinvesting in the business to keep it current and competitive.
