Baby Joshua weighs in to mark 70th birthday of NHS

A mum from Mildenhall saw her son born at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds on the day the NHS officially celebrated its 70th birthday.

Natalie Davenport gave birth to Joshua at 12.13am on Thursday. He weighed in at 6lb 10ozs. “It happened a bit quicker than we thought,” said Natalie. “We got here and walked through the emergency department but I’d not got far before they had to put me on a trolley in one of the emergency department bays. There were staff everywhere and they were all amazing; they came racing from the labour suite and within 13 minutes Joshua was born.”
