A Suffolk festival showcasing the many aspects of wood and wood workers saw just under 10,000 people visit at the weekend.

Everything from chainsaw wood carving to den making, music to story telling, took place at the two-day Weird and Wonderful Wood festival at Haughley Park, near Stowmarket.

She said: “So many have thanked us on social media and by email already – which is just what we like to hear – the whole thing was just incredible.”

Sarah added she felt the draw for people to come to the award-winning festival, which showcases the many aspects of wood and wood workers, was its uniqueness and diversity in what it offers.

She said: “It just brings the best of Suffolk together in an affordable way – which has always been our ethos.

“I would like to thank everyone that came out over the weekend, our huge team of volunteers, the woodcrafters, musical acts and food vendors – we would not have a festival without them, we are very lucky.”

Organisers have already put plans into place for the 2024 Weird and Wonderful Wood, with the second weekend in May set as next year’s date.
