Mildenhall College Academy temporary classroom plans recommended for approval by West Suffolk Council

Retrospective plans to build two temporary classrooms at a Suffolk high school have been recommended for approval by a council.

Mildenhall College Academy installed the two single storey buildings at its site in Sheldrick Way before the start of the 2023/2024 academic year.

In a design and access statement submitted to West Suffolk Council, the school said the double classrooms were needed because it was taking on more students.

The plans are for the installation of the two temporary classroom for 104 weeks, equating to two school years - and associated pedestrian access.

Approval for the plans has been recommended subject to the conditions that the buildings should be removed by July 12, 2026, and should be installed in complete accordance with the approved plans and supporting documents.

The plans will be discussed at a development control meeting next Wednesday.
