Miles of tailbacks on A11 southbound between B1106 at Elveden and A1065 / A1101 at Barton Mills, near Mildenhall, after crash

A crash on a major road caused miles of tailbacks.

Traffic was held on the A11 southbound between the B1106 at Elveden and A1065 / A1101 at Barton Mills due to the collision.

Suffolk Police was at the scene.

A National Highways spokesperson said there were two miles of traffic on the approach, with about 30 minute delays.

At 4.45pm the road reopened with less than one mile of traffic on the approach, with about 10 minute delays.
