A pizza restaurant in a town high street has withdrawn its plans to operate until midnight.

Papa Johns had put forward proposals to West Suffolk Council to change the opening hours of its branch at 13 High Street, Mildenhall.

The premises currently open from 11am to 11pm from Monday to Sunday.

Applicant Bal Balwinder previously said the proposed changes were to cover a loss of sales and due to a rise in inflation as well as the prices of electricity and gas tripling since the store opened.

Mildenhall High Town Council had objected to the application due to concerns regarding the amount of disruption to residents on the High Street and living close to the premises.

There are eight other Papa Johns restaurants in Suffolk.
