Mildenhall Sea and Royal Marines cadet Tyrri Bell nominated for Cadet Vocational College Award




A Royal Marines cadet from Suffolk was nominated for a prestigious award and presented with a certificate at the House of Lords.

Sgt Tyrii Bell, 17, from Mildenhall Sea and Royal Marines Detachment was one of the twelve finalists put forward for the Cadet Vocational College Westminster award.

The award is an annual competition designed to recognise and reward the most deserving cadets.

Sgt Bell, who lives in Newmarket, was presented with her CVQO ILM level 3 certificate by Lord Lingfield at a luncheon at the House of Lords celebrating the achievements of all twelve finalists.

Colour Sgt John Tillotson BEM, Mildenhall Royal Marines Cadets Detachment Commander, nominated Sgt Bell for the award.

He said she was nominated for overcoming personal adversity and by helping children in the community with special needs through sailing and sport.

She was also credited with putting other people first before herself.
