Strictly Come Dancing showman Giovanni Pernice to return to the stage in Suffolk in 2021
Strictly Come Dancing showman Giovanni Pernice is set to make a spectacular return to the stage in 2021 with his incredible show This Is Me, after the tour was cut short this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The show returns to Suffolk next year with four dates in the county – in Felixstowe, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds.
The Italian dancer was devastated to have to put the 2020 tour on hold just a couple of weeks after opening night. He posted on Instagram at the time: “Never wanted this moment to arrive, but here we go…I’m so sorry to say that we have had to reschedule the remaining shows of the This Is Me tour.
"We have to think of everyone’s health and wellbeing. Thank you to all of the amazing audiences we have had and apologies to those that haven’t seen the show yet.
"I hope we will be able to return soon…but in the meantime, be safe, be healthy, look after each other and be kind. I miss you already…G!”
Pernice has become a firm fan favourite, having been a professional dancer on the hit BBC TV show since 2015 and has reached the final three times, with Georgia May Foote, Debbie McGee, and Faye Tozer respectively.
On the 2019 series Giovanni was partnered with Michelle Visage, who is a judge on the popular TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race, making it all the way to Blackpool.
The professional dancer has said This Is Me is his "biggest and best ever tour to date".
“I just want to try and do something different, something that you haven’t seen before. I want to challenge myself and show off my hidden talents," he said.
The showman is set to light up the stage once again, along with his cast of professional dancers, for his fifth year of touring.
With his natural charm, combined with beautiful choreography perfectly complemented by a fabulous soundtrack, This Is Me pays homage to the music and dances that have inspired Giovanni’s career, from a competition dancer to one of the biggest names on the hit BBC show.
The tour runs from the February 22 2021 through to May 2021, – with dates at the Spa Pavilion in Felixstowe on Thursday, March 25, Marina Theatre in Lowestoft on Wednesday, April 28 and at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 6.
Tickets can be booked directly through the theatres or at www.giovannipernice.com. A limited number of VIP Meet and Greet tickets are also available at each venue.
