Misha Goddard and Connor Furlow jailed following knifepoint robbery at Best Choice Store in Norwich Road, Lowestoft
The actions of a man and woman jailed following a knifepoint robbery in Lowestoft have been branded ‘despicable’ by a detective constable.
Misha Goddard, 30, and Connor Furlow, 29, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a knife in a public place, at a previous hearing.
Goddard was jailed for 45 months, and Furlow 32 months, following the robbery at the Best Choice store in Norwich Road, on October 16.
The pair entered the convenience shop to buy a drink and returned five to 10 minutes later.
Furlow then pulled a knife from his waistband and told the shop worker not to move.
Goddard, who had been out of prison on licence, then attempted to open the till drawer.
When she could not open it she pulled the entire till so the plug came out of the wall.
They both then left the shop taking the till with them.
Detectives quickly identified Goddard as a suspect and she was arrested two days later. Furlow was arrested on October 29.
Detective constable Georgie Read, of East CID at Lowestoft Police Station, said: “We will not tolerate businesses and their employees being targeted by criminals – especially those who use the fear of violence.
“Stealing from shops is bad enough, but to brandish knives at people who are just going about their working day is despicable and the sentences handed out reflect the severity of the crime.
“Misha Goddard is a repeat offender for this type of offence and as a consequence was handed a longer sentence.
“Hopefully this time around she will better reflect on her actions whilst in prison.”
Goddard had been out of prison on licence, after being sentenced to 32 months’ imprisonment on September 13, 2023, for a similar offence at a shop in Beresford Road, Lowestoft, in the same year.
Her latest sentence will run concurrently to the remainder of her current sentence.
