Fire crews battle blaze in Lowestoft on fourth floor of building at former Jeld Wen factory




Multiple fire crews have been battling a blaze at a derelict site in a Suffolk town.

Firefighters were called at 3.36pm today to reports of smoke coming from a building in Waveney Drive, Lowestoft.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews discovered on arrival a fire on the fourth floor of a building at the former Jeld Wen factory.

The blaze was extinguished using a hose reel and an aerial ladder platform was used to access the fire through the roof.

There are no reported casualties.

Firefighters left the scene at 5.09pm.
