Man dies after serious crash on A47 between B1375 at Hopton, near Lowestoft, and B1370 at Gorleston
A man in his 30s has died after a crash on a key route near Lowestoft.
Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were alerted to the A47 between the B1375 at Hopton and the B1370 at Gorleston at 8.40pm yesterday.
A blue Vaxuhall Astra collided with a white Range Rover Evoque.
A spokesman for Norfolk Police said the driver of the Range Rover, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
In addition, the driver of the Vauxhaull, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.
He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he remains.
The road remains closed while the investigation continues and is expected to remain shut for much of the morning.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have noticed the manner of driving before it happened.

A diversion route is in place while the road remains closed.
Motorists should exit the A47 eastbound at the A143 Beccles Road Interchange near Great Yarmouth, before joining the A143 southbound and continue until the A146 junction at Gillingham.
On the A146, they should continue towards Lowestoft before rejoining the A47.
