Lowestoft man charged after allegedly running across roofs and damaging cars in town's High Street and North Bevan Street




A Lowestoft man who allegedly ran across rooftops in an attempt to escape police has been charged.

Dean White, of High Street, appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court today accused of seven counts of criminal damage and one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear.

It comes after police were called to reports of disorder at a High Street home at 10.10pm on Wednesday.

Officers attended and spoke with a man who swore at them and climbed out of an open window.

The man was later found on a roof in Bevan Street West from which he threw roof tiles at parked cars on the street.

White was arrested by police at 1am on Thursday and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning before being formally charged.
