Lowestoft man arrested in connection with suspicious death of woman in London Road South

A man has been arrested in connection with a suspicious death in Lowestoft.

Officers were called to a flat in London Road South at 7.10am yesterday following reports that a woman in her 40s had suddenly died.

Her death was unexplained and a Home Office post mortem examination is set to take place today.

At 1.15pm, officers arrested a 49-year-old from the Lowestoft area on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to Great Yarmouth Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said officers were treating this as an isolated incident.
