Man arrested after armed police incident in Lowestoft's London Road South




A man who sparked a major armed police response in Lowestoft today has been arrested on suspicion of firearm offences.

Armed officers descended on the town's London Road South just after 11am and closed the road near the junction with Carlton Road.

Another road closure was in place outside KFC but all routes have now reopened.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at 1.45pm and has been taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

No injuries have been reported, a police spokesman said.

Officers remain at the scene as investigations continue.
