Fire crews from Lowestoft, Stowmarket and Haverhill called to two-acre blaze at Wenhaston




Fire teams are currently battling a two-acre blaze in Wenhaston.

Crews from stations across Suffolk have been tackling the fire since it was reported at 1.30pm.

12 teams have been requested, with eight currently at the scene.

Crews from Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Haverhill and others have been mobilised.

The heath fire has engulfed two acres of grass, heathland and trees.

Fire crews are using water on the fire with spray attachments.

A fire service spokesperson said that good progress is being made to control the fire.

Numerous hoses are in use.

The police have issued a reference number of 184.
