Boys arrested after death of Pakefield, near Lowestoft, woman Joy Middleditch bailed for a fourth time
Two teenage boys arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of an 82-year-old woman have had their bail extended for a fourth time.
Joy Middleditch was found lying on the floor at her home in Grayson Avenue, Pakefield, shortly after 1.50pm on Saturday, March 25.
She was taken to James Paget Hospital, where she died in the early hours of Monday, March 27.
The incident was believed to have happened overnight between March 24 and 25.
Ms Middleditch died after a suspected robbery at her home.
The boys, 15 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were 14 and 15 at the time.
Both were arrested on suspicion of murder.
They were due to answer bail today.
However, a spokesman for Suffolk Police revealed the pair have now been re-bailed until October 30.
Ms Middleditch reportedly gave a description of her attackers to Suffolk Police before she died.
Family described Ms Middleditch as ‘strong, determined character who loved life and her dog’.
They added: “She was a loving person who was sadly taken from us too soon.
“We as a family would like to thank the police and the community for all their help and support.”
