Brandon firefighters extinguish vehicle which burst into flames

Firefighters have extinguished a car which burst into flames in Brandon this morning.

The blaze broke out in Weeting Road earlier today, with Suffolk Fire and Rescue called to the scene at 8.37am.

Brandon Fire Station confirmed that, upon arrival, crews used two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to successfully tackle the fire.

The crews also dampened down the immediate area around the vehicle, to ensure the blaze could not spread to nearby houses.

The incident was declared closed just before 9am.
