Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna on recent form and Bolton Wanderers game

Kieran McKenna says his Ipswich Town side are not getting carried away with their recent bout of good form.

After a run of one win in eight games, the Blues are now unbeaten in their last five and have gone over 500 minutes without conceding a goal.

Despite that, the Ipswich manager knows there is still plenty to come from his Ipswich side in their last 11 games, starting with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

"If I ever thought I'd seen the best of us it would probably be time to pack my coat, because for me it is always about trying to develop and improve the team," said McKenna when asked about recent performances.

"I hope there will never be a performance that I'm 100 per cent satisfied with because I don't know what I could come into work for the next day.

"There is always things for us to improve. We are certainly not getting carried away with a few good results - I think we have got a lot still to do."

The clash with Ian Evatt's side marks a difficult run of games for Town, as they continue to chase down Plymouth Argyle in second place.

After their trip to the University of Bolton Stadium, McKenna's men face Shrewsbury Town, Barnsley, Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers, all of whom are vying for a place in the play-offs.

However, the attention remains on Bolton, who have lost just once at home this season in League One.

McKenna added: "Their home record is very good, that reflects in that recent run. But we know that they are a good team anyway.

"We know there is going to be things we are going to have to do from a defensive point of view to try and stop them.

"But it doesn't change our mindset that whatever stadium we go to, we want to go there and be positive, brave and have a focus of what we can do and how we can hurt teams. We will keep that mindset, but of course also respecting Bolton."
