Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert welcomes extra substitutions and previews return to action against Shrewsbury Town at Portman Road

Watch the latest thoughts of Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert ahead of the Blues' return to action following the international break, with Shrewsbury Town set to visit Portman Road this afternoon (3pm).

The boss gives his support for the increase in substitutions, with an increase from three to five permitted by the EFL for the remainder of the season.

He also reflects on Arsenal loanee Mark McGuinness' debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s; a punishing schedule of matches for his side; the latest injury situation; the emergence of Bury St Edmunds' midfielder Brett McGavin and today's opposition.

Town go into the game, the start of three home matches in succession, in third place in Sky Bet League One, a point off second-placed Hull City after having both played 11 matches and three points off leaders Peterborough United, whom both hold a game in hand over.
