Ipswich Town's ex-midfielder Darren Ambrose previews away clash at Portsmouth

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Ambrose has provided his extensive thoughts ahead of the Blues' trip to Portsmouth this afternoon (1pm).

Ambrose, who had three separate spells (one loan) with the Tractor Boys, is the guest on the club's preview show on their YouTube channel with Dan Palfrey for this crucial Sky Bet League One encounter.

He discusses quotes from recently-appointed boss Paul Cook regarding Town's inconsistency, the difficulty of battling back from falling a goal behind and why Fratton Park is traditionally a tough place to visit, as well as offering a score prediction.

Match passes to watch today's lunchtime iFollow stream of Town's match at Paul Cook's former club Portsmouth can be purchased for £10 via clicking here.

Ipswich currently sit 7th in the Sky Bet League One table, following Tuesday's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Fleetwood Town, one point adrift of sixth-placed Charlton Athletic with two games in hand.

Hosting Portsmouth lie 10th in the table after a torrid run – including losing their last four matches – which saw manager Kenny Jackett relieved of his duties.

But there is optimism swirling around the Pompey fanbase ahead of today's game following yesterday's appointment of former Lincoln City promotion-winning boss Danny Cowley, most recently with Huddersfield in the Championship.
